Privacy Policy

The short version

The Anchor iOS app doesn't send your data to us. Your blocked apps, your paired Anchor and your focus sessions stay on your iPhone.

When you buy an Anchor on our website, we collect what we need to deliver it: your name, email, phone number and shipping address. Payments are handled by Razorpay, and we never see or store your full card details.

We don't sell your personal information.

The Anchor iOS app

Anchor uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (Family Controls and Managed Settings) to block the apps you choose. Apple gives the app opaque tokens for your selections, not the names of your apps or how you use them. Those tokens are stored only on your iPhone, and Apple's rules don't allow them to be shared off the device.

The app has no account and doesn't ask for your name, email or any other personal information.

Anchor uses NFC only when you start a scan, to read or pair your Anchor. The first time an Anchor is paired, the app writes a random identifier to it. Every iPhone that pairs that Anchor afterwards reads the same identifier and saves it on that iPhone.

The app also stores your settings and the start time of your current focus session on your iPhone. None of this is uploaded to our servers, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

The app's Contact Us button opens your own email app. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.

The Refer a friend button opens the iOS share sheet with a link to our shop. You choose who to send it to; the app doesn't see your contacts.

If you delete the app, iOS removes everything it stored. You can also turn off Anchor's Screen Time access at any time in iPhone Settings.

Links in the app (such as our shop or this policy) open in your browser, where the website section below applies. These links carry a campaign tag (utm_source=anchor_ios_app) so we can see that a visit came from the app. No personal data is attached to them.

Orders and payments

When you place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, the quantity you order, any coupon you apply, and, if you choose to set it, a delivery pin location on the map. We use this to process your payment, ship your order, email you an order confirmation and shipping updates, and give you support.

Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited. Card, UPI and bank details go directly to Razorpay and are handled under Razorpay's privacy policy. We receive only the payment status, a payment reference and the amount.

We share your name, phone number and shipping address with our courier and logistics partners (such as Delhivery) only so they can deliver your order.

We keep order records for as long as we need them for delivery, warranty, returns, and the tax and accounting records the law requires us to keep.

Emails

We send transactional emails about your order, such as confirmations and shipping updates, through our email provider, Resend. These aren't marketing emails, and they're sent only because you placed an order.

If you joined our early-access waitlist before launch, we have your email address and the page you signed up from, and we may email you about Anchor's launch. Every such email lets you opt out.

Website analytics and cookies

We use PostHog and DataFast for product and traffic analytics and Sentry for error monitoring. We use Google Tag Manager, which may load Google Analytics, Google Ads or Meta Pixel to measure visits and purchases. Marketing parameters from links (such as UTM tags) are stored with your visit and order so we know which campaigns work.

PostHog session replay may record how you interact with pages. Every form field, including checkout fields, is masked in recordings, and we never send your email address or phone number to advertising tags.

You choose whether to accept analytics cookies in the cookie banner. Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, PostHog and DataFast don't load or run until you accept. The shop and checkout work either way.

Who processes your data

Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting), Razorpay (payments), Resend (order emails), courier partners such as Delhivery (delivery), and PostHog, DataFast, Google, Meta and Sentry (analytics, advertising measurement and error monitoring). Some of these providers process data outside your country under their own safeguards.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we have to keep it by law (for example, tax records for completed orders). You can also withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time. Email [email protected] from the address you used, and we'll respond within 30 days.

If you're in India, these rights apply under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our website and store are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. A parent or guardian should place any order for a minor.
